Happy Birthday to me!

It was the eve of my 32nd birthday. I was headed to NY to see my friend Tirzah we were planning on having an awesome night out...an NKOTB concert. Since I had a golden key (wishing) I could go to any event I choose. I met up with tirz at the airport and we headed to get me checked in to a hotel. Jen was flying in later that night. We hung out for a while went to dinner and did some shopping. Before we knew it, it was 8pm time to meet Jen at the airport. We got Jen picked up and headed back to the hotel to get her all settled in.
"I've got a feeling this is going to be the best birthday!"I said. "Shanna, you have no idea" Jen giggled.
It was almost 1am and we decided it was time to sleep.."We've got a long and exciting day ahead tomorrow..sweet dreams girls!" I said. We all turned in for the night. My alarm went off at 7am. I woke up gleaming! "Happy Birthday to me!" I shouted "Wake up girls...its time to get this party started!" After we all got showered up and prettied up we headed down to the hotel restaurant for the breakfast buffet....then after breakfast..SHOPPING! I was looking for the perfect birthday outfit. Tirzah took us to some local boutiques...I finally found the right dress after trying on 100 outfits or more LOL It was a sapphire blue spahgetti strapped dress with with sequins on the straps. Simple, yet elegant. "Shanna that dress is gonna knock Jon off his feet! It brings out your eyes!" Jen said. "Yes Shanna...tonight is your night sister." Tirz said. "Aww..group hug!" I said. "I'm so glad I'm here with my girls..this is the best birthday ever!" Jen snickered "What?" I said turning to Jen. "Shanna I'm telling ya you think its great now...you just wait" she said with a fecious smile. "Umm..Ok..you're scaring me Jen " I laughed.
We piddled around for a while and then headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and the concert. "Meet N Greet starts at 7..concert at 9! Get a move on girls" Jen said. "Ok ok Jen..I wanna look perfect!" I said.
We went down to the hotel restaurant around 530 had an awesome dinner and a few drinks. Jen stood up and proceeded to toast me "Shanna I raise my glass tonight in honor of your birthday...our friendships...and to our 5 fav guys WOOOO! " Jen exclaimed. "Woooooo!" Tirz shouted "Double WOOOOO WOOO!" I yelled. A man shouted with laughter "Yep thats what I thought...they're blockheads!" We laughted hysterically "And PROUD of it!" we yelled!
As we came out the hotel doors I saw a limo with blue and green ribbons tied to the front and back bumpers. "Oh how cool! A limo! Must be someone famous!" I said. Tirz and Jen were laughing hysterically "What?!" I said "Shanna its YOUR limo! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!", they both shouted. "OMG girls!! This is awesome!!" "Yep, Jen said and here's your crown my queen of the K-N-I-G-H-T (placing a small tiara on my head) lets roll!"she said.
We hopped in the limo poured us some Dom Perione and hit the road to the venue. The excitement inside of me was building "I'm gonna meet Jon..and NKOTB! (a bit buzzed) " I shouted out the window of the limo!
We arrived at the venue right at 7pm. Whoa what a crowd! The guys were already mingling..there was a grand staircase we had to walk down to get to where the guys were. "Gee I hope I dont trip on these heels...how embarrasing that would be!" I said. But it made me feel like a princess...descending down the staircase in my beautiful dress..tiara on. And then...I was about halfway down..when I saw him. He looked straight up at me..and smiled. "Oh god..tirz..and jen he just looked right at me!" My heart started pounding I had to grab on to Tirz and Jen both to keep my balance my knees were knocking! We got down to the bottem I took a very deep breath and thought "Ok Shanna compose yourself..."
Jen took me by the hand and led me straight to Jon...He whipped around and said "Jen! My friend how are you?" They hugged. "Jon I want you to meet Shanna its her birthday today."she said. "Well Happy Birthday!" he said. He scooped me up and hugged me so tight I thought I'd faint from the lack of oxygen my brain was getting. LOL "Jon I'm so glad to finally meet you!" I exclaimed. "I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me" "Love you too Shanna and thank you for being a fan" he said. "Well girls I've got others to meet, but I'll see you later after the show ok!" he said. Jon walked away, turning around to give me a wink and a smile. "Wow, this seems almost like....a dream!" I said "Shanna..it gets better." Jen said. We headed over to where the rest of the guys were. I headed straight for D. "Donnie!" I yelled. He turned around and grinned that wild boy grin..."Hello ladies!" he said. We hugged and talked got autographs and mingled a bit with our BH sisters. Jen leaned over and whispered something to D. "I'll be back in a min girls"Jen said. Jen and D walked a few feet away and was talking about something. Jen and D were both smiling like crazy. Jen came back and said "Ok girls...its' showtime!" We all gave a big WOOO!! and headed in to find our seats.
The concert started...house lights dimmed. We were about 2 hours into the show. Rocking it out! D stopped the music and proceeded to speak. "Folks we have something special for you tonight." "Shanna...I need you to come up on stage." "WTF!" I said. I started shaking! Jen and tirz were crying with laughter. "Shanna I told ya...it gets better!" Jen said with a smile. A bodyguard came and lifted me up onto the stage. "Folks..D said, This is Shanna and today is her birthday. " The crowd shouted "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I didn't know what to do or say! I just stood there! LOL The house lights dimmed..I was put on a stool by myself...with only a spotlight to see. And then I heard it....(the intro to HAPPY BIRTHDAY..you know the bells do do do do..ok) I thought OMG WTS is going on!
Jon stepped out from behind me...got down on one knee and started singing the birthday song! Then the rest of the guys chimed in...and Jordan with his falsetto "to you hooo hooo" I had tears in my eyes but I was laughing! Jon bent down and kissed me on the cheek and said "Happy Birthday Shanna" I got off the stool and D handed me the mic.."Go ahead Shanna..say whatever you feel like saying." he said. With my voice shaking "I wanna say thank you...to Donnie, Danny, Joe..Jordan..and Jon for coming back into my life and making this the best birthday of my life!" "Thank you to my girls..Tirzah and Jen for being the two best friends a girl could ever have!" "But i'm curious...(I was giggling) why on earth did you do this for me?" D took the mic back and said "Well see I got this call from Jen and Tirzah they wanted to make sure you're birthday was the best ever..so we got together and planned this out..." "You girls!!" I screamed out! So after that we were given special seating and backstage passes to hang out with the guys after the show. It was the BEST KNIGHT I could have EVER asked for!!
